Many of the calls were threatening and harassing, Nova Scotia RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Jennifer Clarke said in a press release Sept. 12.
Forrester James Selig Jr., of Port Medway, was arrested on Sept. 8 and remanded into custody. He has been charged with one count of uttering threats and two charges of breaching his probation.
Selig appeared in Bridgewater provincial court on Sept. 11 and was remanded back into custody until Oct. 23 at 9:30 a.m. During that court appearance, he will also answer to charges related to an August incident in Port Medway.
The investigation is continuing, as other charges may be considered.
This isn’t the first time the Queens RCMP have been threatened by area residents – in June, two men were arrested after they threatened to drive a vehicle into the Liverpool RCMP office.
