FALMOUTH, N.S. – A garage near a home in the 400-block of Bog Road in Falmouth has been badly damaged, with most of the equipment inside completely destroyed.

Paul Maynard, deputy chief with the Hantsport Fire Department, said firefighters got the call around 7:23 a.m. after a neighbour phoned it in.

“When we arrived on scene, we found a 16 by 20 (foot) garage fully involved by fire,” Maynard said. “Crews quickly knocked the fire down.”

After talking to the building owner, Maynard said, firefighters learned that the structure was used as a storage area for equipment and as a small business.

Firefighters from Hantsport, Windsor, Wolfville and Brooklyn were bought in for mutual aid.
