BROOKLYN, N.S. — A motor vehicle collision between a cube van and a small black car resulted in one person being transported to hospital with serious injuries.
The accident was reported at 11:19 a.m. Nov. 22 in Brooklyn, near the intersection of Highway 14 and Highway 215, close to the Petro Canada gas station.
According to the RCMP, the small black car came down Highway 215 approaching the intersection and had the right of way. The van had been on Highway14 and failed to yield to oncoming traffic.
Cpl. Jennifer Clarke, a media relations officer with the RCMP, said the female driver of the car was transported to hospital via Life Flight.
The man driving the cube van was uninjured and is facing charges of failing to yield the right of way.
Clarke said she is unable say if any factors contributed to the collision, such as weather or substances, until the investigation is complete.
The highway was closed for a short period of time until the scene was photographed and the vehicles were removed.
