GREENWOOD, NS – An arrest has been made one day after an attempted robbery was reported Feb. 1 in Greenwood.

A 17-year-old man was using the Scotiabank ATM on Central Ave in Greenwood at 9:16 p.m. when a man allegedly came up to him, told him he was carrying a weapon, and demanded he withdraw all funds from his bank account.

The young man refused, and the alleged assailant ran away empty handed.

The RCMP has arrested Lower Sackville resident David Brandon Smith, 30, in Kingston Feb. 2.

He appeared in court the same day to five charges, including robbery with a firearm.

Smith remains in custody and will appear in court again Feb. 13.
