Brush fire near Digby - forest dryness surprises firefighters
DIGBY, N.S. – The dryness and flammability of the forest surprised Digby firefighters at a small brush fire on the edge of town.
Meeting set for September 27 at the fire hall
Middleton will be among sites selected for provincial consultations on electricity. Energy Minister Andrew Younger said today that Nova Scotians can help define the long-term future of the province's electricity system through public consultation for the Electricity System Review.
"I encourage Nova Scotians to participate in the electricity review as we travel across the province," said Younger. "I'm looking forward to valuable discussions about the future of electricity policy in Nova Scotia."
The meetings will include an interactive presentation by Younger, a workshop to gather feedback from the public and a question and answer period with the minister. Each session will include a 30-minute open house before the listed start time.
A live webcast in French and English will take place October 15.
A schedule of the sessions, and a new study on system governance, have been added to the website at http://novascotia.ca/electricityfuture. Videos, summaries documents and previously released studies are also available.
Nova Scotians can also provide written comments, fill out an online survey, which will be available in October, or tweet with the hashtag #electricityfuture on Twitter. The feedback will help government understand Nova Scotians' priorities for the future electricity plan.
