Update: Police release name of man killed in fatal car crash near Canning

RCMP awere called to the scene of a head-on collision between a pick-up truck and a sedan closed highway 358 in Arlington/North Corner area around 5:45 p.m. on Sept. 2. The crash left one man dead.

A 25-year-old Kentville man is dead after a car accident Sept. 2 in Kings County.

RCMP were called to the scene of a head-on collision between a pick-up truck and a sedan that closed highway 358 in Arlington/North Corner area.  

At approximately 5:45 p.m., police, paramedics and firefighters responded to the head-on collision. Preliminary investigation determined that the lone occupant of a pick-up truck was traveling northbound when his vehicle collided with the lone occupant of a southbound sedan. The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The man was identified as Stephen Peter Leblanc of Kentville

Police say the driver of the pick-up truck was assessed at the scene by EHS paramedics and released.   

Highway 358 was closed in both directions for several hours. A collision reconstructionist was called to assist with the investigation. It was determined that the lone occupant of a southbound sedan lost control of his vehicle and collided with a pick-up truck traveling northbound.
