A Lower Sackville man is facing sex-related charges involving a young person.

Clinton Giffin, 59, is charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of touching a young person he was in a position of trust or authority toward for a sexual purpose.

Giffin was not present in Kentville provincial court on July 23. Having earlier filed a designation of counsel, he was represented by attorney Stanley MacDonald of Halifax. The court appearance was originally scheduled for Windsor.

Reading of the charges and election address were waived. Judge John MacDougall adjourned the matter to Sept. 16 for election and plea.

The charges stem from incidents alleged to have occurred in South Uniacke between June 28 and July 28, 2011 and in Mount Uniacke on Dec. 1, 2011.
