There has been another unexpected closure of Shelburne’s Roseway Hospital Emergency Department. It will be closed during the day today: Tuesday, August 5, starting at 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

South West Health said the closure is because of an unexpected and temporary staffing shortage.

Shelburne area residents requiring emergency services during the hours of closure should visit the nearest open Emergency Department or Collaborative Emergency Centre. Call first to ensure it is open.

The public is reminded to dial 911 in the case of a health emergency; paramedics can administer live saving treatment during transport to hospital.

In non-emergency situations, call 811 to speak to a Registered Nurse 24 hours a day, seven days a week for advice. People experiencing a mental health issue can call the 24/7 mental health crisis line: 1-888-429-8167
