Shelburne’s Roseway Hospital Emergency Department will be closed two nights this week for 11 hours each.
The closures will be tonight, Monday Aug. 25, starting at 7 p.m. until 8 a.m. Tuesday morning and again on Friday, Aug. 29, starting at 7 p.m. until 8 a.m. on Saturday morning
South West Health says the closures are due to staffing shortages.
Shelburne area residents requiring emergency services during the hours of closure can visit the nearest open Emergency Department or Collaborative Emergency Centre. Call first to ensure it is open.
In non-emergency situations, people can call 811 to speak to a Registered Nurse 24 hours a day, seven days a week for advice. People experiencing a mental health issue can call the 24/7 mental health crisis line: 1-888-429-8167
The public is reminded to dial 911 in the case of a health emergency; paramedics can administer live saving treatment during transport to hospital.
