There were fortunately no serious injuries as a result of a three-vehicle collision late Tuesday afternoon in Coldbrook.

Kentville firefighters responded at 3:56 p.m. to the collision on Highway 1 at the lights at the end of the eastbound exit ramp for Highway 101 Exit 14.

On their arrival at the scene, firefighters found one of the vehicles on its side with an individual trapped inside, another up against a pole and a third in the middle of the intersection.

All three vehicles suffered damage, and reports indicated two were written off.

The trapped victim had to be extricated from the vehicle using the Jaws of Life. According to firefighters, once he had been freed, he was able to walk away

Unconfirmed reports indicated two victims were transported to hospital with injuries not believed to be that serious. The collision closed the exit ramp and backed up traffic on Highway 1 in both directions.

Traffic was moving again by 5 p.m.
