Kings RCMP are looking for a 58-year-old man after a standoff in Ogilvie, Kings County, Saturday night.

Around 4:55 p.m. on July 19, police received a report of an assault on a female on Long Point Road.

"The female left, she's safe," said Cpl. Scott MacRae. Although he did not know the extent of her injuries, he said they are not believed to be life threatening.

"We were led to believe the man was still in the house and he might have a weapon."

Police shut down access to the area and the RCMP emergency response team was called in. They entered the home around 9 p.m. and seized a firearm, but the man was not present.

MacRae said police will be looking for the man in relation to the assault. He is not believed to be armed.

As of 10 p.m., police were still on the scene.
