New Minas firefighters responded around 1:15 p.m. June 9 to a report of a vehicle on fire in the parking lot of Nothing Fancy furniture warehouse on Commercial Street.

The fire was extinguished within 10 minutes. On investigation, fire chief James Redmond said it appeared one of the front brakes on the vehicle had seized up and caught on fire. There were no injuries, and only minor damage to the vehicle.
