Digby's Relay for Life, now in its eighth year here, is underway in the Digby Area Arena, running from 7 p.m. through the night to 7 a.m.

Cancer survivors, family, friends, caregivers and volunteers are uniting to celebrate, remember and fight back against cancer. The night began with the Survivors' Victory Lap, followed at 7:30 by a hair cutting, with the shorn locks heading to a company that makes wigs for those who have lost their hair to chemotherapy.

The night has presentations, music and--most dramatically--the lighting of luminaries at 10 p.m. in memory of victims and survivors.
