The Aylesford fire chief said he isn’t sure exactly what happened but his department was called to assist a man who fell over a cliff at the French Cross on June 29.

Chief Shawn Carey said firefighters were called to Morden at 5:51 p.m. to assist the 18-year-old male. Aylesford contacted Kentville to respond in mutual aid with their Gator but firefighters didn’t use the vehicle in the rescue.

“We ended up carrying him off the beach,” Carey said.

Carey said he wasn’t certain of the extent of injuries but paramedics transported the man to hospital. Firefighters were on the scene until 7:15 p.m.
