Inspector Ken Reade of the Kentville Police Service reports Apple Blossom weekend was quiet in the Shiretown.

"We had a very good weekend.  The crowds were well behaved with fewer than normal arrests," he said.

"We did have a couple of assaults and the rest was basically alcohol related.  I feel the increased police presence acted as a deterrent for illegal activities."
