EAST UNIACKE, N.S. – The East Hants District RCMP responded to a call of found human remains on Dec. 2, 2017 at 9:36 a.m.

According to a press release from the RCMP, the remains were located in a wooded area off of East Uniacke Rd.

The RCMP said that a hunter, who was in the area at the time, found the remains.

The RCMP's Northeast Nova Major Crimes Unit is investigating this matter, which is ongoing.

The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner's Service is assisting the RCMP with an investigation and an autopsy will be conducted.
