DIGBY, N.S. - The first snowfall of the season caused several accidents in Digby Nov. 27.
Constable Colin Helm, media relations officer with the Digby RCMP detachment, said five accidents were reported between 6 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.
“There was no injuries today,” he noted.
While no one was hurt from the crashes, two accidents involved vehicles flipping over. These occurred on the 217 in Rossway and the Middlecross Road in Marshalltown.
On Highway 101, an accident involving two vehicles occurred in Brighton.
The other two accidents took place with vehicles sliding into the ditch on the 217 in Freeport and Lake Midway.
Const. Helm said accidents are a common occurrence following the first snow of the season. He reminds the public to take precautions as the weather creates slippery conditions.
“The RCMP remind the public that it’s this time of year when the roads can be icy and we don’t realize it. Please drive with precaution.”
