KENTVILLE - There will be a lot of activity around the Kentville bridge in the weeks to come.

“Over the next four to six weeks, we will be installing new power poles and then moving the existing powerlines to the poles. Following our work, the telecommunications cables will also need to be moved to the new poles,” said Nova Scotia Power spokesperson Tiffany Chase in a prepared statement.

“Travel lanes may need to be reduced at times to allow crews to safely carry out this work; however, we will do our best to reduce traffic impacts in the area. Traffic control personnel will be on-site to direct pedestrians, cyclists and motorists around the work site, as needed.”

Nova Scotia Power and contracted crews are relocating a powerline and some poles in advance of the construction of a new bridge.

Bell Aliant is also in line to complete some work at the site before the bridge can be replaced.
