Spontaneous combustion caused a fire this morning.

Kings County fire departments battled a stubborn fire for several hours at the construction and demolition debris disposal site on North River Road in Magee Lake the afternoon of Feb. 17.

Kentville Fire Chief Ryan MacEachern said the call came in at around 11 a.m. and the fire was pretty much out by 3:45 p.m.

Mutual aid was provided by the New Minas, Greenwich, Canning and Waterville and District fire departments. All sent tankers and human resources to the scene.
