Just a little over a week after the closing of the hugely successful Festival of Dance Annapolis Royal, artistic director Randy Glynn was in CBC’s Toronto studios today, September 3, chatting with Q’s Jian Ghomeshi about the unexpected and unprecedented success of Glynn’s “Dancing in the Third Act.”
The piece is a full-length work which the choreographer created in 2013 around a group of 12 seniors, all untrained in professional dance. The production sold out its first three performances and has earned national critical attention as well as invitations to a number of dance festivals. “Dancing in the Third Act opens Montreal’s Quartiers Danse festival on September 12 and is also featured at the Atlantic Dance Festival in Moncton on October 16.
Glynn’s interview and photos from the production can be found on the “Q” website.
