Join Caledonia for a fun filled day of events at Queens County Fair Grounds and the downtown area.
The day starts off at 11:00 a.m. with a Pancake and Strawberry Brunch at the Masonic Hall, sponsored by NQ Heritage House Society, followed by Opening Ceremonies at the Fair Grounds at 1 p.m., with the Official Flag Raising, Singing of Oh Canada, and sharing of the Canada Day Cake.
The events line up so far are:
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Pancake and Strawberry Brunch at the Masonic Hall, sponsored by NQ Heritage Society
1 p.m. Opening Ceremonies, Fair Grounds: Official Flag Raising, Singing of Oh Canada, and sharing of the Canada Day Cake.
All Day BBQ, homemade burgers and German sausage, sponsored by NQBT.
Throughout the day: Cake Walks - Cakes supplied by: United Church Women of Caledonia and WINS North Brookfield
1 – 4 p.m. Special Farmers’ Market
1:30 p.m. “Touring Through Time”, Horse drawn Wagon Rides, sponsored by NQ Heritage Society and Georgie Uhlman (Leaving from Downtown Caledonia)
Start of Live Fishing Derby, Fair Grounds
Face Painting, Claire Montreuil & Co.,
2 p.m. Events presented by North Queens Fire Association
Washer Toss challenge, NQ Ground Search and Rescue
Pie In The face contest - Cindy Weare, Hollow Log Café, facing off against Marie Conway, Marie’s “Mobile” Pizza.
2:30 p.m. Ron Frail Memorial Women’s Fry Pan Toss, Official Fry Pan donated by RSR Manufacturing.
2 – 4 p.m. Free Swim, Aquatic Centre near Fair Grounds. Sponsored by The Region of Queens in Conjunction with the NQ Medical Center Association. The Medical Center will be handing out Canada Day trinkets to the kids.
4 – 8 p.m. Show & Shine, Peter Maxwell/Ron Uhlman located at Mary Lake Home Hardware and Medical Centre Parking Lots. Five categories
5 – 9 p.m. Live Music, George Chouinard & “No Borders” at the Fair Grounds
9:30 p.m. Fire Works display over Mary Lake, NQFA
The local merchants will be celebrating a week-end long Canada Day event, with in store specials, and Canada Day decor.
The NQBT and Business Community, invites you to enjoy the extended Canada Day week-end and welcomes everyone to participate.
The celebration is sponsored by the North Queens Board of Trade, Region of Queens Municipality, Heritage Canada, and our local businesses and organizations.
A Shuttle Service will also be provided free of charge. Pick Up and Drop Off at the Fair Grounds, Medical Center and Caledonia at the VIC/Masonic Lodge. Service will run every 20 minutes or as required throughout the day until 5 p.m.
