PHOTOS: Shelburne Founders' Days celebrated


SHELBURNE, N.S. – A lot of fun and activities made up the schedule to mark and celebrate Shelburne Founders' Days, which were held July 14-16.

Here is a photographic sampling of some of the events, activities and fun that took place during the annual festival.

A commemorative dory to celebrate Canada 150 was launched during Founders' Days on July 16. Built at the Dory Shop Museum, part of Shelburne’s Historic Waterfront, this commemorative Dory was built by Master Boat Builder Milford Buchanan, and is the canvas for a special Canada 150 community art contest. The winning artwork of six local youth and adult contributors was reproduced on the side of the dory. This initiative was in partnership with the Town of Shelburne, The Municipality of the District of Shelburne, and Shelburne’s Historic Waterfront – Museums by the Sea. It was made possible with Canada 150 funding from the Government of Canada.
