The walk, which will start in Bramber in the afternoon of June 3, will coincide with the annual Relay for Life fundraiser in Windsor. The group is hoping to arrive at the Hants County Exhibition Grounds as the relay winds down around midnight.
“We've always put a team in for the Relay for Life. We've always been a big support and we believe in doing that,” said Fitness Junkies owner Kathy Johnston-Isenor.
“This year, we've decided to take it up a notch.”
The group, which welcomes all ages and fitness levels, will be participating in an outdoor Walton workout in the morning and then walking to Windsor.
“It's pretty hilly. It's going to be a challenge for sure, but compared to what those in our area that are suffering from cancer or those affected by cancer in some way, it's a very small challenge compared to that, said Johnston-Isenor.
They hope to raise funds prior to the walk, and to raise awareness of the importance of cancer research while travelling along the route.
“With Relay for Life, it's about fundraising for cancer research so we're really hoping that people will sponsor us in the walk. We're not collecting money along the route but you can pledge any one of our members,” said Johnston-Isenor.
Eight people have committed so far to walking the entire distance, while others have indicated they'll participate for a few kilometres, or drive support vehicles to keep the walkers hydrated.

“We're very excited to participate in the Relay For Life again but this is just adding a Fitness Junkies flare. We're really looking forward to it.”
