Laura Churchill Duke, who pens the Family Fun column for TC Media's Annapolis Valley papers, volunteered for McHappy Day at McDonald’s May 7 in New Minas.

Duke worked alongside McDonald’s crew trainer Jessica Bezanson and other staff members.

TC Media's Nova Scotia Weeklies' circulation manager Margaret Wallace volunteered at the Coldbrook location.

On McHappy Day, $1 from every Big Mac, Happy Meal and hot McCafé beverage sold is donated to Ronald McDonald Houses and other neighbouring children’s charities, including Kings County’s Camp Brigadoon.
