Berwick’s Gala Days Committee is recruiting new volunteers to begin planning for its 2014 event.

The organization, which plans and rolls out the community’s annual celebration, is seeking people to fill a variety of executive positions, including two co-chairs and a treasurer.

“We also welcome anyone else that wants to help in any way,” explains committee member Carol Boylan-Hartling.

New members are welcomed from within the Town of Berwick and from nearby satellite communities including Somerset, Waterville, Windermere, Morristown, Aylesford and Weston.

Gala Days is moving back to its original Labour Day weekend timeslot for its 69th year. The event was held in early August in 2012 and 2013.

Those interested in learning more about this opportunity to contribute to Berwick’s long-running community celebration are invited to attend a planning meeting being held January 27 at 6:30 p.m. in Berwick town council chambers.
