WINDSOR, N.S – Adrienne Wood, chairwoman of the Windsor Business Enhancement Society said the downtown merchants were excited about the changes happening this year during the annual general meeting on May 22 at the Schoolhouse Brewery.
One of those changes is a proposed waterfront walkway, which will allow pedestrians to access Lake Pisiquid from Water Street near TAN Coffee and Schoolhouse Brewery.

“Our budget is quite different this year to compensate for that walkway and new storage unit that was a necessity,” Wood said. “We’re working with a smaller budget because of those factors.”
The walkway is expected to take up approximately half of the WBES budget for foliage and beautification, the society’s largest expense.
The WBES will be working with the town to make the project a reality.
Wood said none of the merchants raised any concerns about changes to the foliage budget.
Despite the added costs, Wood said the society won’t have to take on any debt, as they’re just adjusting their expenses.
“Everybody who spoke up was really happy and excited and looking forward to the changes that are happening in the downtown.”
