KENTVILLE - Andrew Zebian is thrilled to be caught up in the holiday hustle and bustle.

Zebian, owner of the Phinneys clothing store in Kentville, has noted a significant spike in visitors leading up to the holidays.

“It’s been a great season here,” he said, noting that he expects holiday sales from this year to exceed the 2016 season.

Zebian commended fellow Kentville merchants for making a concerted effort to work together and offer extended holiday hours for the convenience of shoppers.

“(Kentville) is going back to its roots. It’s a shopping destination. There’s a unique mix here,” he said, listing SAXX underwear as one of the hot sellers at his shop this year.

“It’s nice to see the little stores flourish again.”

R.D. Chisholm Ltd. owner Eric Lockhart has also noticed an increase in numbers from previous years.

“So far it’s been very good. Our LEGO and our board games are the big sellers,” he said in a brief interview Dec. 21.

“We’ve been busy… and life is good right now.”
