The Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work recently held its inaugural Business Awards Luncheon to recognize businesses in the community that support the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the workplace. The CCRW’s Partners Program hosted its inaugural Business Awards Luncheon at the Louis Millet Centre in New Minas Oct. 24 to honour those who go above and beyond to support inclusion in the workplace.
About 40 guests – business representatives, community leaders, clients, staff and government officials – met to share inspiring stories, enjoy a free catered lunch, honour the award recipients and discuss the resources available through CCRW.
Tyler Huntley from Boston Pizza in New Minas won Job Seeker of the Year, while Boston Pizza’s Jennifer Donnelly accepted the Employer of the Year award.
Dax Kurtz from Giant Tiger in New Minas took home the hardware for Most Supportive Employer and Department of Community Services duo Karla Stevens and Jennifer Georgeoff collected the Community Partner Award.
