New Minas Burger King re-opens with celebration

Burger King in New Minas recently celebrated a grand re-opening of its store. During the past few months, the restaurant has been going through some upgrades.

Donald and Miriam Tanner opened the first fast food restaurant in New Minas 41 years ago, and since then, Burger King has remained in the family, currently owned by their son Bruce and wife, Lisa.

During the opening celebration, there was free cake and ice cream, and the chance to win prizes including a whopper meal once a month for a year.

“If success is measured by happiness then we were very successful; customers and staff were happy, too!” said Lisa Tanner about the day.
