Big book-signing bash for Ells
Big book-signing bash for Ells
The Sheffield Mills Community Hall was packed to the rafters with well-wishers as farmer, columnist and now author Glen Ells held a signing event to mark the release of his first book, Starting Over. Former Canning resident Ron MacInnis, pictured here, who founded the Canning Gazette, said he drove an hour-and-a-half from his home on the South Shore to congratulate Ells and buy a copy of his book. MacInnis said the bursting hall "is a measure of this man's popularity." Ells said he was overwhelmed by the turnout and in people's interest in his book. He sold 106 copies in just two hours. Among those who turned out was Gordon Hansford of Kentville, seated by Ells.
