Canadian troops in Kandahar are shown enjoying Tim Horton's beverages during some down time at the Kandahar Air Field in Afghanistan. The photograph was taken to thank the students and staff of Hillcrest Academy in Shelburne. The photograph has also been sent to the school for the students, who, in Dec. 2006 raised $2,025 during a walk-a-thon to purchase Tim Horton's gift certificates for the troops to enjoy while on tour in Afghanistan. The students presented the gift certificates to Shelburne resident, Sgt. David Camp, who brought them to Afghanistan when he was deployed at the beginning of February. Shown, from left are Sapper Mike Ste-Marie, Sgt. Camp; Cpl. Perry Rideout, Cpl. Rick Gero; Cpl. Ashley Tighe and Cpl Lance Stewart.
Thanks from Afghanistan
