And she no longer has to travel to Halifax to achieve it.

Jo Anna’s Ocean Reflections is a new, up and coming beauty and bridal salon located in Barrington Passage with gowns and services to rival any big city boutique.

Owner Jo Anna Goreham opened her salon in November and offers many lines of wedding gowns, attendant’s dresses, and prom dresses to make any woman feel caught up in a fairy tale.

“I never wanted to be a small shop,” she says. “I wanted something where you walk into the shop and you feel like you’re in Halifax.”

Designer names include ADK, Mori Lee, Alyce as well as Essence of Australia, a line not found anywhere else in the Maritimes.

The shop also offers a hairdressing studio for cuts, highlights and up-do’s. An esthetician service is also opening soon to complete the package.

The beauty and bridal salon employs eight, including cosmetologists, sales associates and consultants and Goreham is in the process of hiring two more employees, one of whom will run the esthetician service.

Goreham has always been attracted to the beauty business and as a young girl swept the floors of a salon.

At the age of 20, she turned around and bought that same business from her boss. Now, 10 years later she has opened the perfect shop she knows this community deserves.

“I love when the girls come in and see the dresses, get excited and light up,” says Goreham.
