A three-vehicle accident closed traffic on the 101 just west of Digby late Thursday afternoon, Feb. 1.

Four people were taken to hospital by ambulance with injuries ranging from minor to severe. The RCMP also led away a dog from the rearmost vehicle. The animal appeared unhurt but scared.

According to witnesses at the scene a grey Buick Skylark heading west away from Digby, signalled and slowed to turn left into a driveway in Marshalltown. A red station wagon stopped behind them. The third vehicle, a small red Tracker jeep, did not stop but collided heavily with the station wagon.

At this point the RCMP are only saying liquor was involved and the investigation is ongoing.
