Lots to see and do at Family Literacy Day celebration
There was a lot to see and do as the Kentville branch of the Annapolis Valley Regional Library hosted the official launch of their new early literacy initiative “Talk, Sing, READ!” on Saturday afternoon. The event was held in conjunction with ABC – Canada Family Literacy Day celebrations. There were refreshments, crafts, reading, games and more. Peggy Simpson of Sheffield Mills took a few minutes to read a story to seven-year-old James Wood of Coldbrook. Many of the young people on hand won books and there were free “100 Books” posters and bookmarks given away.
