Accused remanded on assault, threat charges

The court has remanded a Wolfville man on a number of charges -- including assault, threats and pointing a firearm -- for trial this week.
The charges stem from an alleged incident in that community Sunday afternoon, Jan. 21. They include assault with a weapon; assault; threatening to cause death; pointing a firearm, a semi-automatic 0.22-calibre rifle; unlawful storage of a firearm; possession of a firearm without a license; and unlawfully storing ammunition.
The 47-year-old accused was apprehended at the scene and appeared in Kentville provincial court Monday, Jan. 22 and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Judge Claudine MacDonald scheduled the accused to return to court Jan. 31 for trial.
