East Green Harbour man slashed in the throat and stabbed three times in the back by a friend.
An East Green Harbour man is recovering at home after recieving a slash to his throat and being stabbed three times in the back while at a house party in Allendale in the early hours of Jan. the 13.
The 19 year old Allendale ressident, Logan James Swim, was charged with assualt with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose after the attack on Tyler Cotter.
He was held in custody until he was released by a Justice of the Peace later that day and ordered to appear in Shelburne Provincial Court on March 21.
Cotter was driven to Roseway Hospital by a friend where he received eight stitches to his neck and additional stitches to close up the wounds on his back and then released to go home.
"I can't believe what happened," said Cotter's mother Darlene Buchanan, "he was a family friend...two boys fighting is one thing but this is entirely different."
Since the stabbing she has found it difficult to sleep at night.
"I could have been going to a funeral rather than the hospital," she lamented.
Residents in the area were shocked about the vicious fight saying how both were good kids with good families whose parents must also be hurting right now.
The case is ongoing as the Shelburne RCMP detachment question witnesses.
"This is an inditable offense," said Sgt.McLullen of the Shelburne RCMP, "that could result in up to 10 years in jail."
