The investigation into a Dec. 31 fire in Kennetcook continues.
Fire destroys home New Year's Eve

The Kennetcook and District Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire at the log home of Ricky MacCulloch on Route 354, Kennetcook, at 11:03 p.m. Dec. 31, 2006. The house was fully involved when they arrived.
Fire chief Martin Walsh told The Hants Journal their department was assisted by nine other volunteer fire departments: Noel, Rawdon, Gore, Nine Mile River, Maitland, Shubenacadie, Elmsdale, Enfield and Brooklyn.
The Kennetcook and District Volunteer Fire Department remained at the scene until 8:30 a.m. Jan. 1, 2007. No one was home at the time of the blaze. A cause and the origin of the fire have not been confirmed.
On Jan. 3, 2007 the home was still secured, waiting for the investigation to be finished.
