Krista Toole with the Town of Middleton was passing out LED pins at the recent Christmas tree-lighting ceremony in Middleton. Now she’s getting geared up for the Christmas parade on December 9.

Middleton Christmas parade is lining up
Dacember 9 the big day
Middleton is going to have another weekend holiday event and if the weather forecast is right, you don’t need to worry about being snowed in like you were last year. Some entries, along with the public, didn’t get dug out in time to join in but the first parade in years went on as planned – even with a shorter line up. The mood was festive and the parade was enough of a hit everyone wanted to come back this Christmas.
This year parade organizers are confident everyone will enjoy even more floats and participants winding their way through town on December 9. Entries are steadily coming in for pre-registration and there is no limit on the size of the parade line-up.
“The longer the better so I’ll be taking registration right up until noon Friday. Call 825-5500 and let the town know you want to participate, says Krista Toole, with the Town of Middleton’s Community and Economic Development Department.
Starting at 10:30 a.m., at the elementary school, the parade will travel Commercial, Main, School and Marshall streets. The public is invited to find a place along the route and bring donations to the food bank. Those will be collected along the route, with the help of Santa’s food bank helpers. Giving with Heart is once again the theme of Middleton’s parade and with generous donations Santa can then continue to help others.
“I do the parade in Berwick and New Minas and when I found out Middleton was having a parade, it just made my day, says Susan Crocker. She has miniature horses and will be bringing them out to be part of the line up on Saturday morning. “I always wanted Middleton to have a Christmas Parade because what’s Christmas without a Parade and Santa. This is just great.
Middleton continues to offer a lot to do this Christmas. Shop, eat great food, get pictures taken with Santa at C&D Catalogue (Sears) or make a visit to Subway to enjoy free fun with Stripes the Clown and another chance to see Santa – and don’t forget to visit the Railway Museum. They’re hosting their annual Christmas at the Station following the Parade.
