14 Wing Greenwood's annual Festival of Trees, held November 18 and 19 at the Annapolis Mess raised over $12,000 for the Wing’s Combined Charity.
“We had great crowds out again this year, said Captain Lynn Murphy, who helped organize the event. This year, one six-foot tree and 78 three-foot entries, which were inspired by a variety of business and community groups, were up for grabs to the highest bidder. Thirty four two-foot trees, decorated by members of the the Kingston Lions and Lionettes Club, sold for $20 each and one pink-themed tree raised $100 for breast cancer research.
Eleven donations of gift certificates and baskets were also on the auction block at the fundraiser.
Two trees decorated by Lola’s Touch of Beauty in Middleton, which also donated all the trees for the event, netted bids of $500 each.
