Contractors will begin paving the 12-kilometer section of Highway 103 that will bypass the communities of Oak Park and Barrington by the second week in November.
“We’re fixing that east end up, getting that cut down and that connection straightened out, said construction manager Stuart Clare.
Work on the Barrington River bridge is progressing, with the deck poured on Oct.26.
“It should be completed by the end of November but we’ll be able to take trucks and stuff across it in two weeks time, said Clare.
The highway project was initially started in 1997 and slated for completion in 2000 with an estimated price tag of $12-million. The final cost will be $20 million.
