RCMP make two arrests and drug charges are pending after execution of search warrants
The RCMP have executed search warrants over the past few days that it says have resulted in the dismantling of a marijuana grow operation and the seizure of marijuana and other paraphernalia.
On Saturday, Oct. 4 and Monday, Oct. 6, members of the RCMP’s Yarmouth drug section, the rural and town RCMP detachments and the RCMP police dog section executed two separate search warrants under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Saturday’s warrant was executed in Raynardton and resulted in the arrest of one man. Although charges are pending, they have not yet been officially filed with the court. When they are the man’s name will be made public. RCMP claim to have seized marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the raid.
Monday’s search warrant was executed at a residence in Central Argyle. There, the RCMP say, a cannabis marijuana grow operation was dismantled and seized. The police say they also seized a small quantity of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a firearm. Again, one man was arrested and charges are pending in the case.
