RCMP Kings seize large quantity of drugs, firearms and illegal cigarettes
RCMP Kings Street Crime Unit has conducted seven searches of residences and properties between Sept. 9 and present. The searches were in Berwick, North Kingston, Melanson Mountain, Aylesford, Greenwood and Margaretsville.
RCMP were assisted on several of the searches by the Kentville Police Service Street Crime Unit.
The searches yielded the seizure of 373 marijuana plants, 21 lbs. of dried marijuana, three grams of crack cocaine and 156 bags of illegal cigarettes or 31,200 individual illegal cigarettes.
Also seized were three grams of crack cocaine and several unregistered and insecurely stored firearms.
Charges under the Criminal Code, CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substance Act) and Excise Act are pending against three Kings County males and one Annapolis County male. These matters under still under investigation.

Comment online since October 8th 2008The war on drugs is a counter-productive failure. Legalize and regulate cannabis in order to drive criminals out of the trade.
