Legion Events

October Weekly events at Clementsport Legion are: Rug hooking and crafts on Mon., 1-4pm; Bridge & 45's, 7 p.m.; Bingo on Tue., 7:15 p.m. start; Cribbage on Wed., 7:30 p.m.; Bridge on Thurs., 1:30 p.m.; Pool on Fri, 8 p.m.

Clinics

October 9 Free, walk-in clinics every Thursday at Hutchins Pharmasave, Annapolis Royal. Have your blood pressure, blood glucose or blood cholesterol checked by staff nurse.

Auction & tea

October 9 Mid-Valley after 5 Women's Connection invites ladies to a fundraiser for Village Missions – an outreach ministry of Stonecroft International, at Melvern Square Comm. Hall, 7 to 9 p.m. Enjoy dessert and coffee, guest speaker, and silent auction of works by local artists.

Middleton Farmers' Market

October 10 Market held every Friday from 2 to 6 PM on Commercial St in Middleton (across from Town Hall). Produce, meats, breads, goodies, crafts - all from the Valley. Musical entertainment. Support Local.

Retirement Party

October 10 The Annapolis Valley Exhibition is holding a retirement party for manager, John Longley on October 10 at the Lawrencetown Fire Hall. Social 6 p.m., Potluck Supper 7 p.m. and Dance 9 p.m. (The evening is casual and over 19.)

Flea Market

October 11 Flea Market at the Annapolis Royal Masonic Lodge, 8 a.m. to 12, noon. Proceeds for the building fund.

Harvest contest

October 11 At the Annapolis Royal Farmers' Market with cash prizes for the oddest vegetable to be awarded at 11 am. This will be the last market for the season.

Sale & auction

October 11 Fall Harvest Bake Sale and Auction at the Inglisville Community Hall from 7 to 9 p.m., includes bake, harvest and other auction items. Proceeds for Helping Hands Ladies Group.

Bridgetown Market

October 14 Bridgetown Market is held every Tuesday from 2 to 6 p.m. at 160 South Street, over the bridge in Bridgetown. Spaces are free. Everyone welcome. Call Lewis 665-2029.

MRHS reunion

October 14 Former and current MRHS students and staff are encouraged to participate in the planning of the 60th Reunion. Join us in the MRHS Library at 7 pm, Help make this event a great success.

Service

October 16 Church Services at the New Beginnings Center, 1151 Bridge St. in Greenwood every Thursday at 7:00 pm. There will be teaching and music. Bring an instrument if you like. Everyone welcome.

Health Centre Fundraiser

October 16 A fundraiser for the Annapolis Community Health Centre will be held , Thursday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Forester's Hall in Clementsvale. Please bring baked goods, harvest items, and new crafts for an auction.

This event happens in place of door-to-door canvassing for the area and is organized by the Clementsvale United Baptist Church.

Baptist Fun Event

October 17 Paradise Baptist Family Fun Event: Costumes & Crokinole. Join us from 7 to 9 p.m. in the church vestry (10280 Hwy. 1). Costume prizes and a crokinole tournament. Don your best non-offensive costume, bring along your crokinole talent and favourite snack, and let the fun begin. COGS students are always welcome. Need a ride or more info? Harvest tea

October 17 At the North Street Chapel at 55 North St., Middleton from 2-4 pm. Sponsored by the North Street Ladies Auxiliary. Proceeds for hall repairs.

Fall Auction

October 18 The Lawrencetown Volunteer Fire Department is holding its annual Fall Auction on Saturday, Oct. 18. Viewing starts at 9 a.m. with the auction at 10 a.m.

Gospel Music, Dessert

October 19 Gospel Music and Dessert at the Clementsvale United Baptist Church, Sunday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. Everyone welcome.

Funds for Fuel

October 20 Funds for Fuel bridge party, 1:15 p.m., Monday, Oct. 20,Macdonald Museum, Middleton. Come out for an afernoon of fun and fellowship while supporting your local Museum. $3 per person, light lunch served. Call 825-6116 for more information.

Poverty Walk

October 20 to 26 Bill Knowlton will be walking to Halifax to raise awareness of poverty. Come out and walk a distance with him, encourage him along the way, and sign one of the post cards he will be delivering to the Premier that demands a budget line specifically for poverty reduction. Harvest Supper

October 23 All Saints ACW will be holding their Annual Harvest Supper Thursday, Oct. 23 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at All Saints Church Hall, Pleasant Street, Kingston. Menu: ham, baked beans, scalloped potatoes, pumpkin pie, apple crisp. Cost: Adults - $ 8. Children - $ 4. Family rates are available. There will be take out.

Historical Society Meeting

October 28 Annapolis Valley Historical Society meeting, 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 28, Macdonald Museum, Middleton. Guest speaker is Major Chris Larsen on plane accidents out of Greenwood Base during and since WWII. Free admission. All welcome.

Fall Auction
