Scotian Gold employees sacrifice hair in support of breast cancer fundraiser
Employees at Scotian Gold in Coldbrook helped support the Canadian Cancer Society’s Dress Down day fundraiser, held in support of the fight against breast cancer, in a big way Friday. They wore pink, held a fundraising barbecue and held a friendly fundraising competition in which three co-workers ended up having their heads shaved. The alliance of David Cudmore and David Parrish of the apple sales division came out on top in the challenge and had the pleasure of watching co-workers from the agricultural sales division, Scott Coleman, Sonny Murray and Larry Lutz, have their heads shaved. The exception was Coleman, who had his beard and moustache clipped. The friendly competition took in about $3,600, not including the barbecue proceeds or the funds collected by the Master of Ceremonies, Kings County Council District 9 candidate Bob Best, who auctioned off the right at the first swipe of hair for each of the three.
