Four tickets issued

Four tickets under the Wolfville noise bylaw were issued over the weekend.

A party on Bay St. Sept. 19 resulted in the first charge when it spilled onto the street.

There was another loud party on Prospect St. the same night.

Another charge was laid Saturday night. A tenant on Linden Ave. received a ticket under the municipal bylaw at 11:30 p.m.

Finally, early Sunday morning, the fourth charge was prompted by screaming emanating from a party on Westwood Ave.

Each charge results in a fine of $244.



There were 216 reports made to RCMP in Kings County between Sept. 16 and Sept. 22.

An illegal dump of old furniture and garbage was discovered Sept. 16 on Miner Lane in Grand Pre and was referred to the county bylaw officer.

A suspicious man was going door to door seeking recycled bottles on Pinecrest Dr. in New Minas.

Some forestry equipment was stolen on the Grand Pre Rd.

A man suspected of shoplifting was arrested at a Wolfville business at 5:23 p.m.

Police assisted when a motor coach went into a ditch in Grand Pre. There was no damage and no one was injured.

An unwanted customer at Dooley’s in Greenwood was arrested at 12:28 a.m. Sept. 17.

A driver hit a deer on Highway 101, near Avonport.

Police are investigating a shoplifting incident captured on video at a New Minas business.

An adult woman was caught shoplifting at Wal-mart at 4:30 p.m.

Someone broke into a home on the Pereau Rd.

A youth was stopped while shoplifting in New Minas at 5:39 p.m.

A driver did not pay for gas on Prospect St. in New Minas.

There was a loud party reported in Aylesford.

A large number of video games were stolen overnight Sept. 18 on Central Ave. in Greenwood.

A vehicle was keyed in Port Williams.

A shed was broken into on the Forsythe Rd., near Greenwich.

A man was arrested in New Minas for trying to cash a fraudulent cheque.

A man was arrested for shoplifting and assault following an incident at Wal-mart in New Minas.

There was an assault on the Aldershot Rd. at 7:35 p.m.

Early Sept. 19, police were called to Harbourside Dr. in Wolfville when a drunk man was causing a disturbance. He got into a fight, was injured and went to hospital. An investigation continues.

At 1:24 a.m., police spotted an erratic driver on Gaspereau Ave. in Wolfville. This individual failed the breathalyzer test and charged.

Police are investigating the theft of liquor from the Canning Lions hall. They were alerted at 3:47 a.m. by an alarm. A glass door had been broken.

A young male was caught shoplifting at a business on Main St. in Wolfville at 10:44 a.m.

There was a small fire at the school in Kingston at 1:48 p.m.

Kingston officials discovered vandals had thrown a flag from the golf course into the sewage treatment facility.

There was a noise complaint in Grand Pre.

A resident of Bennett’s Bay reported someone in a red truck driving over a lawn the previous night.

An impaired driver was stopped in Greenwood at 90 p.m. He had no license and expired plates.

Three vehicles with slashed tires were reported from Greenwood at 9:30 p.m.

Following a collision in Lakeville at 10:45 p.m., the driver was arrested for impairment.

A fight was reported on Commercial St. in New Minas at 11:30 p.m.

There was a fight outside the Axe Lounge on Highland Ave. at 11:47 p.m. The alleged victim declined to lay charges.

Two fights were reported in New Minas early Sept. 20. One took place at 1:13 a.m. and the other at Subway at 2:21 a.m. One man was arrested and held until sober.

At 2:52 a.m., a driver was stopped in New Minas for speeding. He refused the breathalyzer.

At 4:23 a.m., a man was arrested for public drunkenness on Prospect St. in Wolfville. He was released when sober.

A shoplifter was caught in Kingston.

Traffic signs were vandalized on Greenwood’s Central Ave. overnight and a wooden barricade was thrown through a glass door at the mall.

A drunk was arrested after being found passed out in a house on McDow Rd. in north Kentville.

A gate was damaged on a farm on Victoria Rd. near Aylesford.

A generator was stolen out of a locked shed on Sumac Dr. in New Minas.

A driver was warned about dangerous driving on Highway 101 near Avonport.

A noise complaint was received from Commercial St. in New Minas at 9:50 p.m.

Someone failed to pay for gas in Kingston at 10:16 p.m.

A drunk was reported on Exhibition St. in North Kentville.

An allegation of pointing a firearm is being investigated in Wolfville after at 1:38 a.m. report Sept. 21.

A youth under 12 was reportedly causing mischief in Canning.

Another gas-and-go took place in Kingston.

A locked vehicle was broken into in Cambridge and a stereo stolen.

A drunk was reported on Pickering Lane in Greenwood.

Police are investigating a break-in at a business in Auburn after being alerted by an alarm at 11:57 p.m.

After a report of loud noise on Winter St. in Wolfville at 1 a.m. Sept. 22, police found the culprits had disappeared.

Tires were slashed on a van on Homco Dr. in New Minas overnight.

There were nine domestic incidents, including one son who broke a window after being locked out.

There were four mental health calls and one sudden death.

Collisions were reported in New Minas, near Berwick on Highway 101, Canning, Greenwood, Deep Hollow, Welsford, Greenwich and Aylesford.

There were 29 false alarms and 14 false 911 calls.
