Dozens of artisans and crafters will be inviting the public into their personal domains during Craft Splash, a week-long festival that highlights knitting, pottery, jewelry-making, carving, spinning, hooking and many other crafts.
Spokesperson Ann Jones says they are delighted to be able to include artisans in the Clare region for this year’s event.

“We have venues in Belliveau’s Cove and other areas of Clare. We now are truly covering Yarmouth and the Acadian Shores,” she said.

Highlights during the Craft Splash include a craft swap on Thursday, Oct. 2, fall fair craft and quilt show at Beacon United Church on Saturday, Oct. 4 from10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a week-long Sheep to Shawl challenge in which knitters will be supplying squares for a shawl. The item will be auctioned off during the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party & Auction at the Milo Boat Club on Friday, Oct. 3.

“The emphasis is on crafts. What we’re seeing is more people becoming aware of what we are doing,” said Jones.
