Road work needed in Queens
NDP Transportation Critic and MLA for Queens, Vicki Conrad has written to the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal, Murray Scott, asking for work to be done on several secondary roads in Queens.
“There is increasing traffic in Queens, including traffic attracted to the Kejimkujik National Park and the safety of local residents and the traveling public should be paramount,” says Conrad.
“Industry is also a frequent user of many of the roads in question with many major haulers of lumber and other products required to use this gateway and they are reporting that the condition of area roads makes it unsafe to travel, especially when they meet a fellow trucker, or large travel trailer on the road.”
Conrad highlighted several roads for the Minister’s attention including the number 8 Highway between Liverpool and Annapolis, Central Port Mouton Road, Hirtle Road, Italy Cross Road, Labelle Road, Port Medway Road, West Caledonia Road, and the Westfield Road.
