The Kings CED Agency is taking part in the Valley African Nova Scotian Development Association’s (VANSDA) Youth Skills Program. The Youth Skills Program involves eight youth who will partner with various businesses in Kings, Hants and Annapolis Counties. The participants of the program will build partnerships with sponsor businesses for a total of 24 weeks. Each participant gains experience working with up to six different businesses.
On Sept. 15, the Kings CED Agency welcomed Brandy Stirling. Brandy will be with the Agency until Oct. 31.

The Deep Roots Music Festival is celebrating its fifth year and takes place from Sept. 26-28 in Wolfville. For its fifth year, Deep Roots will feature more of North America's best Roots musicians, singer-songwriters and Blues artists.
The Festival has expanded this year. Venues such as the Al Whittle Theatre, Convocation Hall, the Irving Centre, Denton Hall, Paddy’s Pub, the Barn at the Old Orchard Inn and Festival tents will be utilized for the Festival.
There will also be more workshops to participate in, many of which are designed for families and children, and there will also be great workshops with performers offering an intimate experience for everyone.

The Acadia Centre for Social and Business Entrepreneurship (ACSBE) is offering an interactive training program for both new and emerging entrepreneurs. The program is designed to expose you to practical business management tools for immediate results in your business. The program will help you develop new management skills in marketing research, business taxes, financial management, personal selling, advertising, bookkeeping and business law.
The program will run Sept. 24 and October 1, 8, 15 and 22 at the Wandlyn Inn in Coldbrook.
