Bowlby’s gets government money
Family-owned Bowlby Quality Meats Ltd. in Greenwood will receive a loan for $150,000 through the Department of Economic Development's Industrial Expansion Fund to assist with working capital.

"This company has been successful over the years with taking its products to niche markets, expanding its operations and maintaining jobs," says Economic Development Minister Angus MacIsaac.

The loan will help ensure the company's sustainability, maintain jobs and secure its future.

"We value the contribution that Bowlby Quality Meats makes to the agriculture sector and, in particular, to the livestock industry in Nova Scotia," says Agriculture Minister Brooke Taylor. "The department will continue to support Nova Scotia producers and processors so we can offer consumers the opportunity to buy local food products."

"We are honored to have served our community for the last 100 years," says Glenn Bowlby, owner of Bowlby’s. "With the province's investment, we will continue to add value to this industry and contribute to our community."
