Two people arrested following assault in Argyle
Men remanded in custody until Thursday court appearance
Two men have been charged following what the RCMP are calling a serious assault that occurred in Argyle, Yarmouth County.
Member of the Yarmouth rural RCMP detachment responded to a complaint of an assault at around 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31. Constable Mathieu Vachon says an alleged assault occurred outside a residence in Argyle.
The victim of that assault, say police, was transported to Yarmouth Regional Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
“The RCMP received a 911 call reporting the assault from witnesses,” Const. Vachon says. “The assault had just occurred when we received the call. The victim was released from hospital but is still undergoing treatment.”
As a result of an RCMP investigation, 35-year-old Timothy Donald Ross and 26-year-old Jeffery Antoine D’Eon have been charged with assault causing bodily harm and causing a disturbance. The RCMP say both men are from Pubnico. The arrests were made within 36 hours of the alleged incident.
The two men appeared in court on Sept. 2 for a bail hearing. Both were remanded in custody until another court appearance on Thursday, Sept. 4 slated for provincial court in Barrington.
